The Tourist Destination of the Brenta Riviera and Miranese Area

The territory of the Riviera del Brenta, Miranese and Terraglio is characterized by the widespread presence of ancient Venetian Villas, typical examples of the Ville Civilization of the Venetian territory, originated, generally from the 1500s onward, by the investments on the mainland of the noble and patrician class of the Republic of Venice, then becoming status symbols of the Serenissima's patriciate; a place where they spent their summer period, giving rise to the phenomenon of villeggiatura.

Here, not far from Venice, in these sumptuous summer residences, Venetian nobles and patricians spent their period of "villeggiatura" on the mainland, a place of delights, a veritable arcadia of ladies and knights who played, sang, experienced love and told tales.

The widespread presence of ancient Venetian Villas in the area, their belonging to different historical and artistic periods, with the possibility, therefore, to narrate in evolutionary terms the history of the territory, the uniqueness of the architectures, frescoes and historical gardens, attribute today to the Venetian Villas a strategic role in the narrative and fruition of the territory.
