Every October since the 18th century, an ancient traditional festival has been held in Noventa Padovana, once called the Autumn Fair, but over the years, thanks perhaps to the centuries-old river link with Venice, it has become centred around a typical product, octopus.

The Old Fair has thus become the Sagra del Folpo (Festival of the Octopus), which, boiled in water and seasoned with garlic, oil and parsley, is eaten in the food stands and in the small kiosks stalls of the folpàri. In addition to hot folpi, however, it is possible to taste many other traditional local fish specialities, such as 'masenette' and 'bovoletti', unfailingly washed down with rivers of wine and beer.

Around the culinary offerings also revolves a whirlwind of offers, experiences, dances and music for all ages, culminating in the grandiose fireworks display that closes the event and sets the scene for the following year.
