The first edition of the Riviera Fiorita took place in 1977, when, at a time of economic recovery and enhancement of an immensely rich local heritage, people began to look at Brenta and its Villas with a respectful eye. Along with the historical and architectural heritage, the landscape and the noblest traditions began to be recovered, as well as an ancient tourist and hospitality vocation.

On the occasion of the Riviera Fiorita we recall the passage of the King of France Henry III in 1574, who had already expressed appreciation and praise for this splendid corner of the Venetian mainland, but above all the splendor and the presence of the nobles of the lagoon city of Brenta, ideal extension of the Grand Canal, had been the place for holidays, the pleasurable life, the parties in luxurious architectural frames expression of a cultural, historical and artistic heritage of great value, reconnected with the at the international level.

Today, as then, on the second Sunday of September, we witness the passage of the water procession, with historic boats of the Venice Regatta and extras, strictly dressed in the costumes of the time. The procession is followed by the boats representing the rowing companies, with the related award ceremony in Malcontenta, the arrival point of the procession.

Riviera Fiorita, especially for this edition, wants to highlight the real and imaginary journey among the most significant stages in the history of the Riviera del Brenta: the meeting of the King of France with the Doge, the life of the Venetian nobles in their summer residences and the appeal that this generous and fascinating territory has for years exercised on business & leisure tourists and economic operators.
