Villa Ducale

Dolo (VE)

In 1884 Count Giulio Rocca built along the Brenta Canal a beautiful manor house on the remains of an older building from the 1700s, on the site previously occupied by the so-called "Casini Andreucci," three 18th-century buildings, only one of which has been preserved to this day. Today Villa Ducale is a hotel and restaurant where, as in the past, the cult of hospitality is celebrated.

The Villa has been completely restored and redecorated, and patient work has brought it to its former glory. The beautiful floors have regained their luster, precious Murano glass chandeliers and mirrors, frescoes and stuccoes are present in every room. From the Ballroom to the Naviglio Hall, the rooms are all embellished with period furniture and exquisite fabrics.

A stroll through the 10,000-square-meter park adorned with statues reveals an 18th-century oratory and also a rather unique building originally used as a stable, as the wooden horse heads on the facade would indicate.

Modern and lively at lunchtime, with an elegant and romantic atmosphere in the evening, the restaurant prepares traditional Venetian seafood dishes with much attention to local products for a result that is wonderful to the eye and delicious to the palate.
