Villa Sagredo

Vigonovo

Nestled in a romantic park along the shores of the Brenta Riviera stands Villa Sagredo.

The Venetian aristocratic Sagredo family, in the second half of the 1500s, built its residence in the Venetian countryside by transforming a pre-existing ancient Roman castle of the Delesmanini family, and embellishing it with marvelous Italian gardens. It was among the most influential aristocratic families in Venice for the duration of the Serenissima.

It was the birthplace of men of culture, politicians and ecclesiastics including a Doge, a Patriarch and an Ambassador, and in the Villa it welcomed illustrious guests including Galileo Galilei, a fraternal friend of Giovanni Francesco Sagredo one of the three protagonists of the "Dialogue over the Two Greatest Systems of the World." The lineage died out with Agostino, a senator of the Kingdom of Italy, who still rests in the Chapel of the Villa commemorated by a tombstone with the family coat of arms.

In 1970 the Villa and the adjoining park were renovated and restored to their former charm, a charm that can still be admired today. Thanks to this rebirth work, the Villa has opened its doors for receptions and events. Thanks to its refined rooms, furnished with furniture and furnishings that create a warm and welcoming atmosphere like that of a home, and for the immense park that surrounds it and enhances its beauty, Villa Sagredo is the ideal location for weddings.

The Antichi Granai Restaurant's in-house kitchen is available for wedding banquets, receptions, gala dinners, corporate and theme dinners, family celebrations, baptisms, communions and confirmations, anniversaries, graduation parties and birthdays. But also for cultural events, meetings, conferences, showrooms, parades, concerts and performances.
